Constantly Monitor Your Antistatic Wrist Strap
Constant Monitor S5181 constantly monitors in "real time" the working performance of your
antistatic wrist strap and the entire path to ground in "real time" while the strap is being worn. Using a constant monitor to detect ESD ground faults
is much better than occasionally checking the wrist strap with an ordinary wrist strap tester. Faults detected by the constant monitor are realized immediately, before
static can damage your product. Not hours after the fact! Constant monitors are ideal for any manufacturing environment where static damage is a concern.
Antistatic wrist straps can and do fail. ESD ground cords get stressed from use and can
break or become intermittent.
Significant advantages of using a constant monitor: ● Immediate detection of ESD wrist strap ground
faults, ● Detects intermittent faults that a wrist strap tester may not catch, ● No need to rely on employees to periodically test their

How a constant monitor works: Plug the ESD wrist strap ground cord into the grounding jack of the constant monitor
right at the workstation. The constant monitor grounds the wrist strap and simultaneously monitors for faults in the ground path from skin contact with the strap all the
way to the earth ground. A good ground path results in the LED on the constant monitor to glow green (indicating GOOD). If a ground fault is detected, the LED will blink
red (indicating FAULT), and the unit will repeatedly beep.
