Geiger Muller Counter Kit K2645. Widely known as a "Geiger Counter", this device is used for
the detection of nuclear radioactivity. Radiation sensitivity is at its highest for gamma rays and high energy beta radiation. A Geiger counter provides an acoustic
measurement of radiation levels. In an area of "normal" or ambient radiation levels, the Geiger counter is relatively quiet, emitting only an occasional
"click" sound. By moving the Geiger counter detector closer to items or areas emitting atomic radiation, the Geiger counter will alert you with an increasing
frequency of clicks. In the presence of a high level of nuclear radioactivity, the Geiger counter will click loudly and continuously... until sounding like a continuous
buzz when in areas of high radioactive emissions. The Geiger counter assembly is compact and may be mounted into a small box, together with
the 9V-battery.
Geiger Counter electronic kit is very easy to assemble. Complete step by step assembly instructions are provided. Rated skill level 2
(on a scale from 1 to 5) by Velleman. Basic soldering skills, a small soldering iron, and simple hand tools are all that is required.
