Wrist Strap Ground Cords
Wearing anti-static wrist straps while working on static sensitive electronic devices and systems is a crucial component of standard ESD protection measures. But any anti-static wrist strap must be connected to a functional ground cord in order to work properly.
Ground cords do endure some abuse, and normal wear and tear. Eventually, a frequently used ESD ground cord will show signs of bad conductivity, which can cost your company money in manufacturing losses. You cant afford to stop production when a ground cord fails. Keep your production line running by having a few spare ground cords on hand.
These professional grade ground cords from ApogeeKits come in two lengths. Model AGC6 is a 6 foot cord, and model AGC10 is the 10 foot cord. The coil cord designs allow the ground cords to expand and contract with the free movement of the wearer.
Both of these ground cords are made with high quality stranded copper wire, include a banana plug and alligator clip on the grounding end of the cord, and a standard 7mm female snap on the end of the cord that connects to common ESD wrist straps having 7mm male snaps. Both of these cords also have a built in 1MΩ resistor, to provide an effective path to ground for static current, while at the same time providing a safe level of isolation from ground in case an operator accidentally comes in contact with voltage while working.
Use these cords with our professional grade anti-static wrist straps or any general wrist strap with a compatible 7mm snap.
