The Many Uses of Heat Guns
Heat guns have many uses in industry and are commonly used in electronics for shrinking heat shrink tubing insulation and tapes, drying out wet circuit boards, troubleshooting temperature related component faults, and re-flowing (melting solder) or removing surface mount components. Because heat guns generate and blow extremely hot air, they also have many other industrial uses like softening and forming plastics and composite materials, to paint removal. A heat gun is a very useful tool to have around and makes a great addition to any work bench or tool collection.
