How to Use Desoldering Braid
Desoldering braid is actually a copper wire wick, used to remove molten solder from circuit boards during touch-up or repair operations.
Made of tiny braided strands of copper, the braid is heated between a solder pad and the tip of a hot soldering iron. The solder on the circuit pad then melts and the capillary action of the braided wire "wicks" the molten solder up off of the circuit board and is captured in the braid. Works best with a drop of soldering flux.
